Artist Biography

Mitchell grew up in the local area around Brisbane where he learnt to love and respect nature and the surrounding coast line.  He studied at Griffith University, completing a Bachelor of Visual Art in Fine Art in 1993.  Later Mitchell travelled to the United Kingdom where he worked as a Wax Moulder to pursue his interest in sculpture and the arts.  Since returning to Brisbane he has concentrated painting the surrounding landscape of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.  He has also refined his sculpture techniques, and is currently working in plywood, steel and hardwood.   His artwork is represented in both private and public collections.
